Privacy policy

PisteJob helps you find job offers, tailor your resume and track your applications. This page explains, in plain words, which data is used for that, who it is shared with and how you stay in control of it.
1. Who is responsible for your data
PisteJob is responsible for processing your data. For any question or request about your data, write to contact@pistejob.com.
2. The data we process
- Your account: your first name, last name, email address and password (stored in encrypted form, never readable).
- Your resume: the file you import and its structured content (career history, skills, the contact details it contains).
- Your search criteria: country, city, contract types, level, minimum salary, words to exclude.
- What PisteJob produces for you: job titles, the offers found and their score, resumes tailored to an offer, interview preparations, messages and cover letters.
- Your application tracker: the offers you add, their status, your notes and the posting texts you paste.
- Your interview feedback (optional): the questions you were asked, your ratings and the outcome. It stays private unless you tick “share”: other candidates for the same company or kind of role then see, anonymously, the company, role, country, year, questions and ratings, never your name or your account. You can withdraw or delete it at any time, and deleting your account erases it too. An entry reported by another candidate is hidden until it has been checked.
- Companies' answers, pooled and anonymous: when you track an application, the company and whether it answered you are used every night to count how many PisteJob candidates got an answer from that company. The figure only appears once at least 5 different people applied there, each person counts once, and no name, role or date is shown. Deleting an application or your account removes it from the next count.
- Job ads seen: to spot an ad re-posted again and again, PisteJob keeps the company, title, city and date of each ad it comes across, with nothing about you. They are deleted after 180 days without being seen again.
- Technical usage data: the date, type and cost of each AI analysis, to limit abuse and keep the cost of the service under control.
3. Why, and on what basis
- To provide the service you asked for (importing your resume, searching offers, writing, tracking): performance of a contract.
- To protect the service against abuse and keep its costs under control (usage limits): legitimate interest.
- To answer your requests and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising and we do not share it with recruiters or employers.
4. Who it is shared with
We use technical providers, only to make the service work:
- Supabase: database, sign-in to your account and storage of your resume file.
- Vercel: hosting of the website.
- Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, creem.io): merchant of record of the subscription. When you subscribe, Creem receives your e-mail, your country and your payment details to take the payment, work out taxes, send receipts and prevent fraud; it handles them under its own privacy policy. We never receive your card details, only the state of your subscription.
- Resend: sending the sign-in emails (confirmation, password reset).
- Anthropic: AI analysis. Your resume, the text of offers and your notes are sent to it to structure your resume, score offers, tailor your resume and write messages. Under its terms for business services, Anthropic does not use this content to train its models.
- Adzuna and, depending on your country, Arbeitnow or Jooble: sources of job offers. They only receive a job title and a place to search for offers, never your resume or your identity.
- GeoNames (geonames.org): open data about towns (CC BY 4.0 licence), copied onto our servers to measure the distance between an offer and the place you chose. Nothing is sent to them.
- Careerjet: source of job offers. As its rules require, besides the job title and place it receives the IP address and browser type of the person who starts the search (to fight abuse), never your resume, name or e-mail.
- SerpApi: reads for us the offers Google Jobs shows. It only receives a job title, a place and a country, never your resume or identity.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country, in particular in the United States, under the safeguards provided by applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR for people in the European Union and the United Kingdom).
5. AI and automated decisions
The AI suggests: titles, offer scores, a tailored resume, messages. These are aids. Nothing is sent to an employer on your behalf, and no decision with a legal effect on you is made automatically. You read, you edit, you apply yourself. A tailored resume only reuses what is already in your resume.
6. How long we keep it
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. At any time you can delete your resume, or your account, from the “My account” page: the account and all associated data are then erased.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, and ask for its restriction or portability. Part of this is done directly in your space: download your resume, export your offers to Excel, delete your resume or your account. For anything else, write to contact@pistejob.com: we answer within one month at most. Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have additional rights under local law, and you can contact us to exercise them.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can also contact your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr).
8. Cookies
PisteJob only uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language. There are no advertising cookies and no audience measurement tools.
9. Security
Exchanges with the site are encrypted. Each account can only access its own data. No system is infallible: if an incident affected your data, we would tell you as the law requires.
10. Changes
If this policy changes significantly, we will say so on the site. The date of the last update is at the top of this page.
